Daniel Kaluuya is “the Robert De Niro of Jordan Peele’s Martin Scorsese,” his castmate has reiterated as the pair reunite for the highly anticipated horror film Nope.

US actor Brandon Perea said Kaluuya and Peele are “juggernauts” in the industry and that the production was an “incredible experience”.

Details about Nope, set on a California horse ranch, are scarce, although trailers suggest the film contains a sinister and supernatural element.

The film is Peele’s follow-up to the acclaimed feature films Get Out and Us, for which he won his first Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

His thought-provoking films are known for exploring racial issues in the United States and beyond through the lens of horror.

“I’ve learned so much, but my favorite part has been working with all these incredible people. Working with Danny Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun…Jordan Peele was behind the lens.

“These are all juggernauts, so they do the best of the best.”

Peele has also previously described Kaluuya as “my De Niro,” though the actor said it was necessary to “fulfill your career” before being mentioned alongside “these legends.”

“It’s cool but for me I always stay focused and it’s an absolute honor and blessing that he sees me like this but it’s like what do we do?” he told BBC’s The One Show.
